The Divine Mercy is a Catholic devotion focused on the mercy of God, particularly as a form of thanksgiving and entrustment to God. The Divine Mercy can be traced back to St. Faustina Kowalska a polish nun, and is based on the bible verse: “Ask and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.” In that anyone who seeks God’s mercy shall not be turned away. St. Faustina said that Jesus in speaking to her requested that she commission a picture of him with the words “Jezu Ufam Tobie” (Jesus I Trust In You).
