In itself Lourdes Water is merely water from the spring at Lourdes. It has no curative or miraculous ingredients. Due to one’s faith and God’s mercy, Lourdes Water has proven miraculous for many who use it. “The Lady” who appeared to Bernadette never made any promises about the use of the water.

On March 1st, 1858, Latapie rose at 3 in the morning, woke her young children and set off for Lourdes. Arriving at dawn, she met with Bernadette at the infamous grotto and washed her hand in the healing spring water. In the presence of over 1,500 people, Latapie’s hand miraculously regained function.  Subsequently over the years, there have been many miracles which come from Lourdes.
